The Mittler Bros. Vise Jaw Shim is required when notching small-diameter tubing — specifically 1/2″ and 5/8″ OD tube — in the Mittler Bros. tube notcher vise. The standard V-block vise jaw is sized for larger tubing; this shim fills the gap so that smaller tubes are held securely, centered, and in the correct position for an accurate notch.
A small but necessary component if you’re working with 1/2″ or 5/8″ tube on your Mittler Bros. notcher. Without it, small tubing will sit too low in the vise jaw and produce an inaccurate notch. Keep one on the shelf — you’ll need it the next time a small-diameter tube job comes through the shop. Made in the USA.
