Take a close look at the edge of this carbide insert and you’ll realize it’s not actually square. Instead, each of its four edges is slightly crowned with a 2” radius. This subtle change makes the cutter excellent for smoothing cuts. Use it with the corresponding Rockler Mini Ergonomic Carbide Turning Tool (49804, sold separately) or with the square radius tool included in our 3-Piece Pen Turning Set (47600, sold separately). No sharpening required — just rotate to a new edge when the previous edge gets dull, and replace the cutter when needed.
