Leopardwood exhibits a deep reddish-brown color with a distinctively flecked grain pattern that is caused by the wood’s prominent medullary rays. Quartersawn sections of the pen blank will showcase the most spotted figuring. It is straight-grained with medium-coarse texture and takes a very nice finish. With sharp tools, this dense wood turns beautifully.
WARNING: Drilling, sawing, sanding or machining wood products can expose you to wood dust, a substance known to the State of California to cause cancer. Avoid inhaling wood dust or use a dust mask or other safeguards for personal protection. For more information go to www.P65Warnings.ca.gov/wood.
