The Mittler Bros. 1/8″ Vent Bung & Fitting is a weld-on vent assembly designed for rear-end housings and other sealed fluid reservoirs. The steel weld bung MIG welds directly into the housing, and the 1/8″ pipe thread vent fitting threads in to allow pressure equalization — preventing seal blow-out and fluid leaks caused by heat-driven pressure buildup inside the housing.
A proper vent is an essential detail on any sealed rear-end housing build. As the gear oil heats up during operation, internal pressure builds and needs somewhere to go — without a vent, that pressure will find the weakest seal. Works great for race and high-performance street applications. Includes weld bung and vent fitting. Made in the USA.
